Life through Art

Art has always been not just an influence, but the foundation of my life. Self-taught and always learning, this journey will never be finished.

Starting when I was a kid infatuated with cartoons, I was always sketching and scribbling on whatever I could. Even when I wasn't suppose to. My school days were made when I knew I had art class. All I cared about was creating something.

As I grew, so did my interest. Taking every art class I was allowed to, I never hesitated to try new mediums. Oil, pastels, charcoal, photography and more. You name it I loved it..... Except for clay. I can't make a bowl to save my life. After high school, art fell to the wayside a bit. Focusing on more career/ work oriented goals. I took time and traveled the world. Living in remote places such as Nanping China. It wasn't until I suffered a stroke at 32 and struggled with fear and frustration, did I rediscover art.

Now, at 36, I've realized the importance of happiness, making the most of my life and filling it with passion.

Hopefully, my creations will do the same for you....

*side note

Music also plays a huge role in my emotional and mental foundations. If you ever need to know how I’m feeling, listen to what I’m playing. Music also affects my art. This is why, sans my abstract work usually, all my work is named for the song I was listening to on repeat while painting it. I recommend listening to the song that corresponds with each painting while you look and see how it impacts you.
